As a tenured instructor I have been teaching the “Basic” through to the “Advanced” series since 2011. I teach the IAT course in Australia and have presented seminars all over the world. I am co-author of the “Mechanics Seminar”, contributed to the “Children’s Orthodontic” series and present these in Australia. I have been practicing orthodontics since 1993 and it is a key part of my busy and large general dental practice. In treating over 200+ cases a year I know the importance of a correct diagnosis and efficient clinical techniques to running a successful practice. Cases with TMJ, Skeletal anchorage, functional appliances, mixed dentition, fixed class II correctors, aligners and orthognathic surgery are all routinely performed in my practice.
My passion for ortho is visible to all I have taught and is reflected in my diagnosis to help you learn and deliver excellent results to your patients with predictability to help you build your reputation. A diagnosis with me will provide a lot of detail but may not be for everyone. I explain all my records corrections, discuss any differential diagnosis, pros and cons and explain why I have chosen a particular treatment plan. Commensurate with your experience, I provide a step by step individual plan with very clear appliance design and instructions and discussions on the variables so that you have no surprises. Ortho can be daunting and I am here to support you post diagnosis whether you have a few questions or require full mentoring. Many of my past graduates continue to send me cases and turn to me for practical advice in their cases.

I select Charlie regularly to do my case diagnosis because his attention to detail in treatment planning overwhelmingly outshines the other doctors. This is not to say the other doctors don’t do a good job, but his treatment plans are crystal clear in what to do when he sends me back my case. Even when the case doesn’t go to plan, Charlie is on hand to get me to the finish line confidently, without losing face.
Dr. Charlie Kahwagi has been an excellent mentor in my orthodontic journey and career. Despite having no mentor in this field in the clinic and starting orthodontics early in my career, I felt confident in treating my patients and this has rewarded me greatly. The case diagnosis and treatment plan are thorough, extensive and easy to follow. I would highly recommend Dr. Charlie Kahwagi for case consultations for any level of difficulty.

I was lucky enough to have met Charlie face to face at many of my POS seminars (prior to covid19). I like his feedback/teaching style and trust his clinical knowledge. I believe Charlie goes above and beyond to support his students, which is what I felt I needed being young/new to orthodontics and in a rural practice. I still will send a difficult case to Charlie for his opinion and even reach out for non-orthodontic mentoring sometimes too! Thanks Charlie!
I cannot recommend Charlie highly enough for consulting and mentoring. I completed the POS Basic Series with Honours in December 2017 and the advanced series in May 2019. I found the diagnosis and treatment planning aspects of a case work up to be a really important learning opportunity within the POS course. As with many of us within the POS family I have sent many cases to many different instructors and Charlie remains my absolute first preference. Charlie checks and assesses your case thoroughly- from the quality of your record collection to the accuracy of your analysis of those records. Charlie then sends you a document detailing where his assessment and diagnosis differs from yours and why. He explains the choices and options available for diagnosis in a clear and concise manner. If you are seeking to understand and further your orthodontic knowledge, case diagnosis by Charlie is one of the best investments you can make in your own learning.
